Interests
Outside the lab and the field notebook.
Outdoors & water
I spend a lot of time outdoors — including multi-season forestry field work that rewards comfort with weather, terrain, and long days outside. I’m an Open Water scuba diver (certified November 2018; 23 logged dives) and hold a Pleasure Craft Operator card, so boats and underwater environments are part of the picture too.
More photos live with the work: travel and curiosity on Ideas & research, and field and lab work on the resume.
Chess & board games
Chess and board games are a regular way to unwind and stay sharp. I enjoy the mix of strategy, patience, and social play.
Languages
English (fluent); French and Spanish at an intermediate level. I’m happy to keep building both — useful for fieldwork, travel, and collaborating across regions.
Travel & outdoor bent
I’m drawn to places where landscape, water, and curiosity meet — without needing a polished travel diary. Community and volunteer threads (from badminton clubs to tutoring and international volunteer work) sit alongside that outdoor bent.
